Ichthyosis is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by abnormal skin scaling over the whole body. Autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis (ARCI) comprises various forms, the most important of which are lamellar ichthyosis (LI) and congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma (CIE).
