Bacterial biofilms are 3-dimensional aggregates of bacteria that have been shown to play a major role in many chronic infections. Evidence is growing that bacterial biofilms may play a role in certain cases of recalcitrant chronic sinusitis that do not respond to traditional medical and surgical therapies.
