Two novel halophilic, aerobic, catalase-positive but oxidase-negative, Gram-positive actinomycetes, designated YIM 91353(T) and YIM 91394(T), were isolated from a salt lake in the north-west of China. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the novel isolates should be assigned to the genus Streptomonospora.
