Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) are distinct clinical entities caused by germline mutations in genes encoding members of the TGFbeta/BMP superfamily: BMPR2 in PAH and ACVRL1, ENG, or SMAD4 in HHT.
