Heterotrimeric G proteins are signaling molecules ubiquitous among all eukaryotes. The Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) genome contains one Galpha (GPA1), one Gbeta (AGB1), and two Ggamma subunit (AGG1 and AGG2) genes.
