The con genes of Neurospora crassa are preferentially expressed during a developmental process known as conidiation. We present evidence indicating that transcription of con-5 and con-10 is also stimulated by blue light. Transcription of these genes was not photoinducible in wc-1 and wc-2 mutant strains.
