During reinforced surveillance of acute bacterial meningitis in Burkina Faso, meningococcal strains of phenotype NG:NT:NST were isolated from cerebrospinal fluid samples from 3 patients. The strains were negative for the ctrA gene but were positive for the crgA gene.
