It has been shown that the temperate bacteriophage ZF40 Erwinia carotovora combines in it two kinds of intragenome heterogeneity--cyclic permutation and cohesive end structures. The latter reassociate more quickly than analogous cos-sites of the phage lambda Escherichia coli.
