BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common of all cancers. Ultraviolet radiation is the major etiologic agent in the pathogenesis of BCC, but there is not a straightforward relationship between cumulative exposure and risk.
