One hundred environmental strains of Vibrio isolated from seawater and skin of healthy turbot in an aquaculture system were analyzed. Chromosomal DNA was digested with HindIII and MluI, and hybridized using a digoxigenin-labeled probe complementary to 16S and 23S rRNA of Escherichia coli.
