Five strains of an unknown, multidrug-resistant coryneform, gram-positive rod were isolated from blood, bronchial aspirate, and abscess specimens. Four of the five strains isolated were highly resistant to antimicrobial agents, including beta-lactams, aminoglycosides, macrolides, quinolones, and tetracyclines, except for glycopeptides.
