Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is a hereditary disorder of connective tissue with skin, cardiovascular, and visual involvement. In familial cases, PXE usually segregates in an autosomal recessive fashion. The aim of this manuscript is to describe an efficient strategy for DNA diagnosis of PXE.
