Phenylketonuria (PKU) is one kinds of autosomal recessive disease caused by phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) gene mutation. This article reviews the recent molecular heredity progress on the phenylalanine hydroxylase gene's orientation, structure, and gene mutation and gene regulation.
