A radiosensitive mutant of Drosophila melanogaster rad(2)201GI was analysed for the capacity to repair DNA single- and double-strand breaks induced by gamma-rays. Analysis was performed on cell cultures derived from embryos of homozygous mutant stock and wild type strain Oregon R. The viability of irradiated cells was studied.
