OBJECTIVE: To investigat the association of HLA-DRB1 alleles and the susceptibility to alveolar echinococcosis (AE). METHODS: Thirty-five patients with AE in the high prevalence areas in the west of China were investigated for HLA-DRB1 gene by PCR/SSP technique.
