Eight closely related thermophilic strains were isolated from an aerobic and thermophilic treatment of swine wastes. The pleomorphic cells (short and long rods; cocci) showed peritrichous flagella, terminally swollen sporangium, and liberated spores exhibiting hairy appendages.
