Vitamin D 1alpha-hydroxylase is a key enzyme for the vitamin D-calcium homeostasis. Recently, 1alpha-hydroxylase cDNA and gene were cloned. Human 1alpha-hydroxylase gene is located at chromosome 12q13.3.
