Antibiotic resistance among Escherichia coli isolates from diarrhoeal disease in cattle was studied. Many of the isolates were multiply resistant to beta-lactams, including expanded-spectrum cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, sulphonamides, tetracycline and fluoroquinolones.
