Lysinuric protein intolerance (LPI; OMIM 222700) is a rare, recessive disorder with a worldwide distribution, but with a high prevalence in the Finnish population; symptoms include failure to thrive, growth retardation, muscle hypotonia and hepatosplenomegaly.
